PARENT REPS

What is a Parent Rep?
A Parent Rep(s) assists the team, coaches, and league in making it fun for the kids by sending out information regarding any league business with the team parents. They are the main point of contact between the League and your team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications
It's highly recommended to use a team management system usually available for free online (ie. Shutterfly Team Sites). This will help you communicate schedules, events, dues, snack bags, etc.

Volunteers
Parent Reps also are responsible for finding volunteers from within the team's parent pool. Events that require volunteers:

Meetings
Parent Reps attend monthly meetings at JCI to receive information and news about upcoming Sansei events.

Team Roster
Parent Reps or Coaches maintain and update the roster for each season by adding/removing players, updating shirt sizes, and updating grade levels. For assistance with login information, please contact the webmaster. Be sure to include your team name and division.

Collections
Before the season begins, you'll submit:

  1. (2) printed copies of your roster to the Registrar
  2. Fees to the Registrar
  3. Bye Request Form (forms sections) to your Division's Commissioner

JCI Carnival/Scholarship Tickets:

  • TIP: Collect the money before the season begins: $20 (Scholarship) and $10 (JCI Carnival)

Areas to Volunteer (Mandatory)
As the Parent Rep, you will need to have your Parents represent your Team at the events below. Submit the names to the Parent Rep Coordinator for each event.

  • (2 people) Field Maintenance
  • (2 people) Team Photo Day
  • (4 people) JCI Carnival

Other Areas to Volunteer (Not Mandatory):

  • Closing Ceremony Potluck Organizer
  • Make a Take a Chance Raffle Basket (worth approx. $25)

Scheduling Requests
Do it ASAP & submit Bye Request Form (forms sections) to your Division's Commissioner (Example: 80% of your team has Japanese school on Saturday mornings.)

Recognized Blackout dates

  • Easter Sunday
  • F.O.R. Basketball Tournament (All divisions except T-ball)
  • Tigers Tournament
  • Mother's Day weekend
  • Memorial Day weekend
  • Sansei Baseball Nite at Dodger Stadium (last games to be scheduled at 3 p.m.)
